Hey guys so just looking for some insight from the transmission guys on this foot/trans brake thru my Holley. I have a built 4l80e with a Jakes lvl3 rebuild and calibration kit and a few other billet goodies in there as well along with a FTI converter single disc with mechanical diode for transbrake use. I came across the Sloppy mechanics trans brake where he uses a relay to trick the trans to go into 3rd then foot brakes and hits his 2 step. The way I'm doing it is I have my 2 step and manual/auto mode pin mapped to the same button on my shifter, I leave the shifter in 3rd/D and I feel it go into 3rd get on the 2 step let go of the button and it drops to 1st and I takeoff and while that works great and gets violent quick I'm curious about breaking ****?? Do my chances skyrocket doing this poor mans transbrake or should I just get a real transbrake?? All opinions are welcome and as always thanks a bunch and have fun out there!!
