Default 4l80 swap journey

In the process of building my truck(turbo 4.8 btr stage 2 truck cam) and swapping in a 4l80 before reinstalling. Purchased a used "jakes performance trans" from fb, came with a receipt and was still painted.
Check the trans out in the parking lot at the meet up, seemed ok input and output spin etc. Get the trans home took the pan down to check it out and find out its been under water and mud from hurricane Helene and the seller just decided to not mention it.(outside of case was clean at purchase) and emailing jake, found out its probably not one of there transmission.
Trans has sense been torn down and cleaned, awaiting for me to figure my life out.
Currently has a transgo hd2 kit installed, from what ive gathered jake doesn't use them and that's how i determined its not one of theirs.(non of this is their problem)

Im not a transmission guy so i have some detail questions. ALL FRICTIONS WILL BE REPLACED - someone's going to say it anyway Lol
1. im assuming i should just dual feed the direct clutch and ditch the transgo kit and install an accumulator plate along with the other usual lube mods. im guessing the vb can just be welded to close the holes or should it be replaced?
2. the bushings seem to be good, should i replace this pistons?
3. Considering just doing jakes refresh kit + new forward hub, hd snap ring and electronics and #1. any other recs
4. recommendation on converter Trucks and 04 SCLB work truck on 305/50/20 tires. cam specs Specs: 212/218 .553/.553" 111LSA(bought not planning to buy a converter but here we are) Going to be a street truck, little to no track.
There probably something else ill think of later.

How much did you pay for the 4L80E? The seller isn't willing to take it back after being dishonest about it not being a Jakes transmission?

1. Yes, dual feed directs. https://sites.google.com/site/sloppy...-ls/4l80e-info
Jakes makes a calibration kit that comes with a blockoff plate. Why would the VB need welded? You mean peening holes in the separator plate? Jakes recal kit comes with a new separator plate.

2. I always replace the bushings during a rebuild. Durabond are best, good like finding them. SAP are another option. Pistons are $60, look for part number 34088 (97 and up transmissions only). Replace them if needed.
3. The Sonnax forward hub 34322-02K is a nice part. Yes, get an A727 HD snap ring. Only use GM or Rostra branded electronics. Rollerize the rear of the case.
4. Fill out this sheet here and call FTI on the converter: https://ftiperformance.com/submit-a-build-sheet/

Seller blocked me after i messaged him about it, and is apparently a real POS from what ive found out.

The trans had the transgo kit installed and re the relief holes drilled. im assuming if i went with jakes kit those would need closed no? ive not seen instructions for his so im unsure.

Oh the pressure relief mod was done on the HD2 kit. That mod should not be performed when doing an HD2 because of reported issues. It's a 3/16 hole if I recall correctly so you can just tap it for a set screw with loctite and that should take care of it.
Correct, jakes recall kit instructions need to be followed exactly. Jakes kit doesn't call for drilling holes in the valve body.

I figured that would need to be closed off. it was done previously at some point
If i install jakes recal kit do i need to do anything with the valves that were previously installed from the transgo kit? change them to another etc
Or can you run an accumulator block off plate with the transgo kit and close the relief?
I also have to replace the bolt that transgo sends you because it stripped during disassembly(cannot for the life of me think of the name of it)

Appreciate the responses.

Jakes Performance deals with many instances of folks swapping from and HD2 to their recal kit. Give them a call and ask for Mike and he can get you all the answers as there may have been revisions to their latest kit that I am not familiar with.
