Shift kit and no Converter?

Shift kit and no Converter? Right now I dont have the money for both a shift kit and converter, but would it be good for me to just get a shift kit now? Would it help make my car any faster with the shifts or....?

Its best to do them both, because you can set up the kit to maximize performance from the converter. There is nothing wrong with doing the kit by itself, but if you get a loose converter afterwards, you may want to remove the spacer plate for further modifications to compensate.

A converter will nett faster ETs than a shift kit. A shift kit will round off the converter, making shifts firmer. You can also adjust shift firmness in the computer using LS1Edit or HPTuners. Go the converter first.
