how strong is the 700r4
WTF are you talking about, what does this have to do with a tranny?
I'm not the expert on trannies but i could tell you a little more than this guy. The 700R4 is almost identical to a 4L60-E, i think its just an older version of the 60e. Its like comparing apples to apples, i've heard they will hold up to about the same amount of power, which is not a whole lot for racing and applications over 350 hp.
That's the second post of yours I've read today where you appear to be frustrated with members' inquiries into building their 4L60 E or no E. Everyone knows there are stronger transmissions available, but every solution requires a great deal of money and each solution compromises something. I think by now everyone knows that you sell planetary sets. Sure, the availability of the different gearing offsets one of the negatives of these swaps, but they are not affordable for everyone. Not everyone with a 4L60 problem needs a swap to something bigger. How is someone unfamiliar with these units supposed to know what their limitations are unless they ask. Part of the decision process is evaluating your options, which is exactly what these forums, and incidently this exact thread, is all about. No need to bash people man, take it easy - this isn't life or death, this is a hobby.
