Th-350 Lockup?
Th-350 Lockup? My friend has a a-4 car with tranny issues (imagine that). Anyway another friend has a TH-350 for use w/a lockup converter for a good price. My question is.... Is this tranny worth building up to swap in or should he look elsewhere? Is the cost of a 350 lockup converter worth the money, and time, or should we find a non-lockup tranny? Thanks in advance for any info
My lockup never worked right, I have had this thing apart 20 times and it has to be the converter, naturally Yank says the converter is fine. I cant cut the converter open so who knows. Problem with a lockup TH350 (TH350C to be exact) is no one makes a manual or trans brake valve body for one. Mine has a lot of nice stuff in it, 2.75 1st gear, TCI sprag/drum, roller tailshaft and the converter works fine so I keep it in there. Regular TH350/400 torque converters wont work with a lockup trans either, I would just stick with a regular TH350. The lockup didnt make that much of a difference on the highway when it did work anyhow..
