"Is this normal" questions concerning tranny and stall
Also, I am not getting good engine braking. It doesn't seem to use lower gears to slow the truck, even with the brakes on pretty well.
Are these things a tuning issue, normal, tranny issue, stall issue? Help...?
It shifts well though.... the tranny feels crisp on the higher throttle shifts. And talk about no traction.... I just barely get into it and I spin,
Alright... check this out. I've contacted the builder and I'm sure Bernard will help me find the fix.... I have a leak that makes 0 sense.
The transmission is leaking from the rear, but it is NOT from the rear seal. I am positive of it. It is dry around there. But, I can see it dripping off the front U-joints. How is this possible. I talked t a guy @ the parts store who seemed to know what he was saying,,, and I basically asked "Is it possible that an internal seal isn't right and it let fluid flow into the yoke, and slip out the hole @ the end?" He said that that wasn't possible, and it has to be the rear seal. I bought it, went under to change it and the same as last night, the seal was bone dry. It is in fine.... I see it dripping from a ujoint.
Any help here? Thanks in advance.
I'm just ready to drive my truck.

There is a hole in the end of the yoke for movement pressure equalization.
If the splines are clean and in good shape the fluid should normally stay slung around the circumference.
There is a slipyoke grease that should be in there. That alone should prevent the fluid from flowing past. Maybe it needs to be cleaned and regreased.
In a problematic situation the hole can be plugged with rtv.

I was at work while my dad put the driveshaft in and he didn't use any grease I don't think. Is this special grease or can if be general purpose grease?

I really don't see how that fixes it. But hopefully it will. Thansk for the help man!
