Talking Fourth Yank Converter in 4 Years!

And there is a reason, YANK CONVERTERS RULE THE STREET AND TRACK.

Back when I first started modifying my 98 SS in 2000, I bought a Yank 3000 converter from our beloved Tom Byrne. That converter dropped my ET's nearly half a second right off the bat! It had perfect street manners, couldn't really tell it was there untill you put the hammer down. Great choice for a beginner.

Then the obsession kicked in, I was hook on my new drug: SPEED! I went through 3 or four camshafts and stepped up the torque converter. I picked up a Pro Thruster 4000 from one of the board members. I tell you what, you drop the hammer with this converter and you just need to hang on the the wheel! That thing hammered down the track like nobodies business! Can you say 1.5x 60'? I can!

Ah but then the obsession was never ending! Nitrous came along(MUST GO FASTER!). We the well proven PT4000 was just a hair to loose for the 200 shot I was throwing at it, (of couse Yank dosen't recommend Nitrous with that converter). Well XLR8NSS came along selling his ST3800. Man what a kick in the *** that converter was! On a smaller N2O hit we were up and running 10.9x's all day long.

Then it was time for Big Stroker and there was no way a 4L60 was going to take that punishment and I picked up a great TCI from ARE's shop car. Good Converter, but thats another story!

Well after the speed bug had taken its bite out of my wallet for three years, I decided to sell the SS. After selling the Race car, I picked up a great old South Carolina State patrol car. Along comes Yank converter number 4! I found a great 6.0L take out engine off ebay and a nice set of inexpensive headers (see external for those) and an other Yank. This time I grabbed a Super Thruster 3500 from an other one of our board members. Man all I gotta say is a stock motor and a Yank equated out to a 1.64 60' right out of the box!

Sorry this was so long, its just that Yank does it again for me and I couldn't be happier with my choice of converters.

Very nice. I want a Yank 4000 but I think it will kill my transmission.

I've had very good results from my Yank converters too;
TT2800
ST3500
YTP 4000
YTP 4200
PS 4400
and now going a bit more mild with a SS4000.
