Appreciate the info guys. After searching around a little more and listening to what you had to say, I think I've come up with a new plan. The cam I mentioned in the original post was in reference to the cam in the SLP 500 hp H/C package. I was interested in the at first, but now I'm thinking that MTI is the way to go. I want either a C2 or the StealthII cam. Those cams have made really good numbers for their size. I'm just not sure how I want it to sound yet. I would be pairing one of those cams with the TCI 3000. Does TCI make something a little smaller than the 3000??

I agree with Onebadwedge. Do your homework before you just buy an off the shelf converter. Pick the cam you want then call TCI. They will want the specs of the cam, the weight of the vehicle, what your rear gear ratio is, etc... and then they will suggest a converter or custom make you one.
I made the mistake of putting a huge cam in my coupe. I then put in a SSF3500, I had major tuning problems and think the converter is too loose. I just want to drive on the street I could care less about going to the track. After taking my car to Keith Craft I started to realize my costly mistakes. They told me exactly what Onebadwedge said. I put in a cam that really doesn't start making power until 4k rpm, how many times am I going to be in that RPM range on the street. Then they suggested about calling the converter dudes and having them suggest a converter. So now the huge cam is coming out and I am putting in a 224 567 cam. And I am going with the converter they recommended.
I WISH I would have known about that shop before I made my costly mistakes. Driveability is a very key word to me right now. Bigger is not always better.

I'm running a TCI 3000, with a 224/228, .581/.588, 115 lsa cam. 3.42 gears.
Putting down 381 rwhp unlocked, 392 locked. Best time so far is 12.1 @ 113.
Driveability is fine. Holds right around 3000 rpms on moderate acceleration. Will easily blow the tires loose unless rolling on the throttle carefully.

FYI with moderate acceleration my PT4000 holds around or under 3k.
03SpiralGray - You were understalled if the cam was huge. I'd suggest keeping the TCI SSF and just changing the cam out. Save the $.

Thanks for the advice, I am changing the cam and it's too late for the converter. I bought one that they suggested I use with my setup. Once they get the old one they are going to credit my account. So I just paid to have a converter installed twice.

But I should be a lot happier with my driveability. New cam specs 224 224 567 567 114+4

Personally for the street, I would go with a smaller converter and stay with a top end biased cam. You can get a top end cam (i.e. retard the cam for top end power) that will idle fine and make very good power at WOT. Tightening up the stall will do more for drivability than using a torquey cam with a big stall.

A TCI 2800 I think that is what they recommended. They said it would stall between 2800-3000.
