Nothing like a PT series Yank, yes they cost but youll smoke similar modded car all day long. I just made a switch from a VIG3600 to a PT4200 and differance is unreal. When it hits third at WOT it feels like its on the hose compared to the VIG.

Same thing here. I have beat on my Midwest for over a year now with no problems, but I have AS Stage II heads and a 231/237 cam now and it is too dead down low for me. Thinking about a PT4000-4400

I really put the Midwest to the test today. Gave it a 200+ shot dead out of the hole and cut a few 1.60s on 17" drag radials. Didn't blow up so I guess it was worth the $400.

i also have a midwest and think its great. Beat the **** out of it too and no problems. I think the main problem that your going to have is picking the right convertor for your application. I suggest you call up all three, tell them what you want to do to the car(dont forget to mention any future mods you will do) and see what they suggest to you. All in all they are the same, just remanufactured oem pieces with different internals, which all three companies offer upgrades which is why you will constantly see people bash other companies convertors cause they are not fairly compairing convertor to convertor. What i mean, and you can read the posts above to see what im saying, People will compair a yank 3,500 stall 2.5 str convertor to a vig 3,200 2.0 str and say the yank hits harder, pulls stronger. Well du dip **** its a different convertor. So i say try and find people that switched companies that went with the same convertor to get a fair comparison of who is better. I doubt you will find people like that cause most upgrade/increase stall when they do their second convertor install. So guys if your going to compair convertors make sure you compair the same stall and str convertor each company has other wise shut up...

Wrong, VIG is a 9.5 inch TC

I like my TCI SSF3500. I have only had it a few months. Hope it lasts a long time.

I thought about going with a VIG 3600, what's the difference in the 1,3, and 5 blade setups? I'll be running the TSP228R cam .588intake/exhaust lift.

Cool

Had my little Midwest about 18 months. Drives great and gets good mileage.
Also, it does good at stop lights and surprises a few people. Yeah; I know it ain't a big verter for the track but it does good for my purpose.
Previously I had a "big name" 3000 stall 2.0str verter and it was waaayyyy too loose and overheated my tranny 3 times.

3000 was too loose??? maybe they gave you a bad converter or the wrong stall...i drive around on a 3800 and its not really that loose.

I have a Vig 3200 and Thunder 224 cam and I couldn't be happier. Going to restall up to 4000 and get a TSP Magic stick over the winter. My Vig 3200 hits harder than my buddy's TCI 4400 off the line.

stall torque ratio...ie: the ratio of torque multiplication between the engine and the transmission. engine is the low side, transmission is the high side.

Let us know how it holds up. I hope this one doesn't leak too..

I am just curious , how did you know your TC had a leak? During the install or after driving and seeing spots on the driveway?
