Default Midwest vs TCI vs Vig

I have read lots of threads on all 3 , a bunch of good and bad.

I just want everyone's opinion on which converter will be best for me.

3000-3500 stall
last a long time
problem free
affordable
efficient
not hurt my MPG too bad
Is used ok??
Right now I am leaning split between TCI and Vig . Vig for the warranty and efficiency and TCI for the price. But like I said, I read good and bad things about all of them.

Future cam is a TR 224 and my car has about 88K miles. My mods are in the sig except my Predator tune and my 3.73 gears

Well my TCI 3500 took a crap after 1 year, was good while it lasted, now with VIG 3200, VIG hits harder off the line. Should have some track times soon.

the only tci converter i have any experience with was a ssf 3500, and i can't say that i was impressed. niether was the owner, who later pulled it for a yank. personally, i like my vig. of the 3 you asked about, i would definately say vig. nothing smaller than a 3600

Another vote for the vig get some sticky tires. I ordered a 3200 but it's actual stall is a lot higher.

I switched from Yank to TCI. It took a while to get used it, but after cutting a 1.57 60-ft on DR's I'm convinced. TCI's service is also great.

seems like Vig and Yank are the most popular .. unfortunately also the most expensive.. I guess I will keep saving for a Vig or Yank ..

Call Jack at Precision (ViG) tell him exactly what you have and want. I had the Vig 3200 and then went to a C5R-427 and it got a bit to wild. I talked to Jack and after a good discussion he built me a converter to match my needs (price is the same as his off the shelf stuff) All I can say is WOW what a difference !!! It is important to match the converter to the car. Talk to Jack first and you will not be sorry.

I have cut a 1.70 on nittos with a 3650 lb raceweight and no tune (for the cam) with my Midwest.

Gas mileage is still 17-22 and drivability is great. I am thinking of stepping up to a 4000 stall, but this 3500 has worked flawlessly.

edit: I also have the TR224 with headers and my best time is 12.22 @ 111.3, again, untuned...

I have driven cars with Yank stalls, but after hearing Parish's experience with them I would never buy a product from a company that cars so little for its customers.
I absolutely love my Vig and Im glad I got the free restall. It is setup to stall at 3K, but stalls higher in my truck. Hopefully it will stall a little higher still with the 6.0. Another guy went from a VIG 2800 to a Yank 3000 and had a slower 60' and 1/4. I think it was by a couple tenths and he mentioned that the Yank wasnt near as aggressive as the VIG.

I have had both a yank and a vig, and like the vig alot better. 2 dif local guys had midwet and both had them chew themselves up and take out there trannys. I would run a stock vertor over a midwest

That's wierd about the Midwests chewing themselves up. I've been beating the ever living **** out of mine for 2 years and it has done just great. I am surprised that it hasn't blown up yet with all the nitrous it's seen (doesn't have the steel stator upgrade).

I have also been beating on my MW verter without any problems over the past 2 years without any incident. It is a little too small for my cam, so I will probably upgrade to a Vig or TCI.

That doesn't surprise me since VIG 2800 stall in the 3200>3400 range while the Yank is as advertised 3000
