Default New converter for next year?

I have a YANK 3200 w/ 2.8 str, it works fine, no issues with it and I like how it drives on the street. I am looking for some better 60' times though. My best 60' so far is 1.71, best ET is 11.72, the converter just doesn't flash much at all.

I have 3.23s and I spray a 100 shot on it. My trans is stock, except for the shift kit I put in with the converter and I have never had any problems with it. What kind of 60' gains could I see with a bigger stall and how much harder is it going to be on my trans? Any recommendations?

With nitrous i would do a TCI 3800 stall , wouldnt go much higher than that for spray.

I was thinking about a Vig3800, my buddy has one in his C5 and it 60's like a mother.

What's pricing on the TCI? How do they hold up to spray?

my little tt-3000 goes 1.62 on 10 inch slicks.it does not like to be flashed=1.70 when you stall the crap out of it low 1.60s are possible with the right tires

You do not want a high stall when using nitrous , you will be giving to much power away. A vig 3800 would stall to like 4400rpm which would not show good results on the spray .

In my last car 99 ta with boltons/cam and a 3800 stall (TCI) on a 90 shot of spray my car ran 11.20s at 119mph with crappy 1.65 to 1.70 60ft time, by the way on motor my car would 60ft in the 1.5s the spray was over powering the tires..

Hmm...My friend's C5 60's at 1.53-1.55 on 17" ET Streets, he is spraying 150 and it flashes to about 4400.

If I'm only going to see a gain from 1.71 to mid 1.6s, I might as well leave it alone and save the money. (Right now I don't spray right out of the hole)

What about more gear for me? 3.42s with a 2.8 STR would probably be a PITA to launch wouldn't it?

Your friends car would be faster on the spray if his converter was tighter. Have you ever tried spraying out the hole, I think that the stator in your converter is alittle to high (personally) i would not change the gears plenty people run fast with 323s .

what other mods does your car have..

No, I haven't tried the spray on the launch. I would have the last time out, but I only got 4 passes in that day.

I have Macs, off road y, ported tb, lid, Hooker cat back, & a ASP crank pulley. (NOS 5177 kit)

with the mods you have , without nos what does your car run , i would think its in the mid 12s somewhere around 107mph, im not a fan of the dry nitrous kits , i have always had really good luck running wet kits on ls1s.

when i first started to mod my old car , i had macs /ory pipe/magnaflow/asp pully/lid and filter and a TCI 2800 converter with 273s and my car ran 12.40s at 110mph with 1.75 to 1.85 60ft .

get some good tires and try spraying sooner

My best run on the motor was with 26x11.5x16 ET Streets, it was a 12.77 @ 106. I used to have Nittos that I ran when I didn't spray and the car was always about 2 tenths & 2 mph faster. I don't have the Nittos anymore though.
