Default What trans?

I know there is a lot of info already out there, but I am trying to decide between 2 transmissions?
My car is a daily driver with a slightly worked 4l60 and I am doing a motor swap right now. When I am finished it will eventually have about 600-700RWHP.

T56 or TH400?

I like the idea of the TH400 with OD but the OD unit is too much $ right now.
Would 3 speeds be hell for daily use? Would any possible street races suffer from th400?
T56 would be fun, but not very consistent and ET would probably suffer. Besides, its not as strong as the 400 and that is what I am looking for (as is everyone)
Remember this is a street car. Visits to the track are maybe 1-2 times a month at most...

Thanks

you could over gear the 400 and under gear the rear end. put 21% more first gear in the trans and 10% less rear gear. just a thought

Well, if its a street car, make your decision based on that aspect. A t56 should work fine with a good clutch on the street, and don't concern yourself with inconsistent track times. You'll have a lot more rolling start street races than drags anyway.
