I think I'm just as confused now as I was before reading all the replies-lol
I'm in the same boat here trying to decide on Yank SS3600 vs PI 3200.
I'd like to hear from someone who has had both of these in the same car. I know either one will feel alot more loose than stock but which of these 2 feels more loose ? I'd probably lean towards the tighter one choosing between them.

Yank should feel tighter. I havn't had either one, but I'm almost positive that's the response you will get.

Yep. I am. First time out after fitting it managed a PB of 12.3@110 stock internals with a 1.74 60' on street radials and a full tank of juice. Working on the fine tuning to maximise torque multiplication between shifts and will be out again in a few days.

I have a 3000/2.0STR converter. It performs like this:

flashes to 2000RPM form standstill to get moving at light throttle (same as stock converter)
can drive city cycle at 2000RPM all day long
a bit more light throttle will see it flash to 2500-2600RPM
flash it from the line and expect wheelspin all through first and second
with careful attention to lockup points, will return similar economy to stock converter (1st tank since converter and already over 400kms/250miles combined freeway and city driving (17mpg))
HALF the cost of Yank and VIG

You do the math

Default Ss3600

More results with my SS3600

Last weekend i won the 'super street' at a bracket meet at Western Sydney International Dragway. In doing so set a new PB.

11.765 with a 1.622 60 footer

This is with 3.73s and MT ET street radials in 235/60 x 15. The race weight was 3625lb.

Specs in in my signature.

The car was very consistent doing 8 runs all under 1.643 and 11.881.

Video of the last 2 races is at www.trackathlete.com/videos/bracketattacklast2.wmv

Thats a great 60' there OZTrack. When we eventually do meet up I want to drive that thing at part throttle to feel the converter for myself. Sounds awesome.

Fuddles sound like a good deal also.

SS3600/TransGo Shift kit/3.73 ( and trans cooler as soon as i figure where to mount it with the cold air induction) anyway always on the power ... best mod by far I did for getting the power under control...of course the N20 adds the extra power to get under control...no more shifts.

Do a search for dope trans cooler install. Basically to mount in place of the fog light access panel. Very easy to do. If you are running that setup without a tranny cooler get it in IMMEDIATELY, the heat will kill your tranny fast.

After hearing so many good things about them and bending John's ear quite a bit I decided to go with the Fuddle. On sale for $360 that's half the price of a Vigilante or Yank. After reading some of the experiences with the Fuddle sounds like it's right on par with the big dogs. One thing is for sure, customer service is top notch.

I was thinking about selling my vig 2800 for a tci 3500, but now that im seeing what everyone has said it looks like the yank 3600 is just as good. I will have my 4:10s in this month and will get a converter this week and i just wanted to make sure one of those two converters will hold up to nitrous.

had a TCI ss3500 it came apart and TCI bent me over and fucked me on the warranty. didnt fix it and wouldnt give me any credit or anything. I have a yank SS3600 runs top of 10s with it all day long for last 2 years never had a problem. so my vote is for yank or vig. also several guys that have tcis around here are having lockup problems. which causes more heat which then takes out your tranny. never had any lockup probs with my yank. dont no bout fuddle but havent really heard anything bad. but we sell yank convertors at the shop

My Yank SS3600 has been in for about 18 months now and I've down shifted frequently and driven my car hard ... no lock-up issues ... verter works just like the day it was installed.

I experimented with HP Tuners until I got it where I liked. The biggest issue with the higher stall was the engine TM. 1>2 shift the car would stumble badly. Once I deleted the engine TM it was fine.
BTW, I'm no longer a fan of TCI. I got about 5000 miles out of my SSF3500 before it tore up my transmission. I replaced it with a Vig 3200.

If you ever try a Yank ... let us know here ... keep us posted on the Vigilante, as well. They're supposed to be great converters.

I've had the new TC (Vigilante 3200) in for about 2 weeks now and all I can say is I wish I'd gone with it the first time around. The car feels a lot stronger, as well. But that is just a seat o' the pants opinion.
