shift kit problem

shift kit problem I have a 700r4 that i installed a shift kit in. i get everything back together and go for a drive and it only has first and third gear. I'm not sure if a check ball is in the wrong place or what it could be? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
do you have reverse?
if not the tranny needs to come out and the reverse reaction sun shell replaced.
