With 3.73 gears and a 26’ tire the shift extension with my TCI4000 is around 5400 RPM.
The shift extension of a 4400 converter should be 5600 - 5700 RPM.

I expected a bigger difference. Any other info on the differences? It will be mostly for the street (bigger h/c setup along w/, not the present cam)...

Both converters will be very similar with respect to hit off of the line, but the 4400 will fare slightly better to the tune of a few hundredths in 60'. 5,700-5,800 RPM shift extensions will certainly be a better setup if you are looking to go with an aggressive camshaft at any point in the future. It will work well with your current 222/222 XE Comp grind as well, but it will give you the added growing room in the future.

As expected, the 4000 stall will feel slightly tighter driving around on the street, but it won't be a big difference over the 4400. FYI, we do have specials running on the TCI converters through the end of January, so give us a call if you'd like to get one on order. We have the specials posted up in the sponsor specials and GP forum.

Give me a call or e-mail me at trevor@texas-speed.com if you have any other questions or concerns.

Thanks for the info Trevor! I will be in touch once Tony releases the small chamber 225/cam package--that is for sure!

I have seen several threads on the shift extension that say nothing about the shift RPM are they not directly related?
