Exclamation Question about slippage

My car is an Auto and feels like it slips or delays going into first gear or maybe second gear when going from a slow coast. It has a little niose like a clunk that happens when the gears finnaly catch. What could be wrong here? Do I need to change my fluid? Have it looked at? Still under warrenty 2002 @ 23K miles, 2nd owner. Thanks.

some A4s will occassionally hang before downshifting.

Has it always done this? Fluid level is the first thing to check. It is possible that a filter and fluid might cure it. Make sure you get it checked before warranty runs out. No point in letting GM off the hook while your guessing at it.

Let It Warm Up And Check It At Idle. The Trans Dipstick Has A Red Top That Says Translock. The Fluid Level Should Be In The Crosshairs.

Subscribing, my trans feels like it slips slighty (small, small delay) going from 1st to 2nd. Fluid level looks good. And was flushed just over 10K ago.
