Default 4L60E cant take the abuse!!!!!!

alright fellas, im finally giving in b/c im tired of rebuilding this POS 4l60e..and im going to go with a 4l80e....now what i need from the LS1 community is to tell me everything ill need (ex.manual shift kit,all spacer, driveshaft,mounts,crossmemebers,torque converter) anything and everything you guys can think of...I've already done a search, and havent really returned with anything that detailed...the reason i need all of this stuff is b/c ill be doing this myself, and pretty quickly, 1 week or so! thanks to anyone that chimes in

You've really already gotten over the hardest part - resigning to the fact that investments in the 4L60-E have been a lost cause. You did that and you've moved on. Most people just cannot get over what they've spent on the 60 no matter how blatent the truth.

I recently unloaded my 60 fully built with $900 in parts (and smoked 3-4 clutches) for less than the going price of a core. I just wanted the nasty thing out of my garage that badly.

I am doing the same thing right now. Yank just got a tranny brace for f-body 4l80e. If you have a 99-02 the stock computer can be used with a speartech wire adapter. You would also need to flash the computer with a 4l80e software. I am trying to figure out still if the flywheel can be reused. Most of the stuff you have already covered.

thanks so far guys, im planning on going with a full manual shift kit, so i dont have to worry about the stand alone computer and what not...its going in my 98Z that is running my 436 turbocharged set up..thanks again
