blew up 4l60

welp today it happend blew that sum bitch up.

whats it gonna cost me to get a new one? it was kinda cool when it went it makes a really loud grinding sound

I dont see how they get to that point. At the first possible sign of anything I would have it looked at. There is a thread somewhere about some guy getting one for like $1600 from GM with a warranty I believe...do a search for that, lots of good info on building them up or just buying a whole new one. there wasnt any signs i was just going down the road at 60 and boom and thats all she wrote. ill look around for one i dont plan on doing it myself i want to make sure its right

I saw a couple people selling A4's in for sale section, an FLP Level 4 and Speed Inc's stage III Maximum Evil I believe this one was fairly new and the owner was asking $1500.

I laid out $1800 for my last 4L60E buildup.

BUT, it has held up with no probs for nearly 2 years of very low 12/high 11 sec NA passes and a handfull of low 11 sec. passes on the squeeze. I also paid more because I was extremely busy at work at the time and just did it that lazy way: drop off car, pick car up a couple days later with new trans.

Have no clue where Borger is, but if you can get to Austin I can hook you up.
