Default th400 sprag

hey all, finally got my th400 apart..its a 70 model..i have been trying to figure out if it had the correct drum for the big 34 element sprag or not..well the stock sprag has 16 rollers and they are the "oblong" shaped ones..i have been reading and reading and i believe this is what they refer to as the Dog bone or lug style sprag..meaning the drum is the same type and the correct drum for the 34 element sprag.. any help? i beleive if it was the newer style "roller" type.(the wrong one for the big sprag) that it would have the ball bearing style rollers correct? these are cylyndric shaped not round....
thanks matt

Default Hey

You're right...count the elements on the sprag???? The ones with rollers are called roller clutches, the dog bones are sprags. Simple...... the roller clutch has a race that is stepped, allowing for the rollers to lock, while the sprag race is round. Sounds like you've got the good stuff.....Hope this helps Dave
