TQ Management Question here
alone with the exception of changing the "Max KR vs RPM" (HPTuners)
value higher. On the stock vehicle this is -10 and you will see -10
degrees spark advance on every shift once you exceed the torque
target. I set mine to 15-20 depending on RPM which allows a
torque cut (advance can be pulled back from +30 down to 20)
but still applies a reasonable power level through the shifts.
If you had the time, tools and inclination I'd suggest going this way,
and find the place where you are cutting torque "some", as much as
doesn't bother you. And put TM onto the 3-4, where from factory it's
absent.
I had pretty poor luck trying to get the TM to behave, when I tried
finesse the torque levels to make a constant torque. The torque
values and management seem like bull
to me; too much fancy stuff and always overreacting. I wouldn't try to teach it
any tricks, just put the short leash on it.
