tc downshift problem true?

tc downshift problem true? ive heard that with a aftermarket tc sometimes the transmission wont downshift, unless u have a shift kit, is this true, or is this in a rare case?

This sounds like nothing I've encountered. But, the stock
kickdown settings are pretty lame and a converter will
make some of this stupidity more noticeable. A little trans
settings tuning makes a very big difference in how it drives.
