Ive got a 2800 stall and was wondering if I should take torque mangement off or leave on. Ive heard alot of people say they turned it off after a converter install. Are there performance gains in doing this and can a predator turn torque mangement off?

TM adds a delay in the shifts as well as pulls timing from the engine to help protect the tranny. Alot of cases I have seen that removed TM wind up having transmission problems but some people are fine. I personally didnt do it in my old SS because the gains simply were not worth the risk.

 

Like he said above, TM pulls timing and power on every shift. I deleted mine at 12,000 miles when I put in my Yank 4200. It really helped firm up the shifts. My tranny blew the input sprag at 40,000 miles, but I knew it was only a matter of time since I was doing 1.50 60 foots on a stock trans. I had the trans built and should be fine now.

I removed it on mine and noticed no gain and now my tranny fluid has clutch material in it (I'm guessing from the 3-4 shift packs) so I'm gonna put it back on to limp the tranny along.

 

I never noticed that big of a difference either when I took mine out. Thats why I put it right back in.

 

Tourqe management sucks but saves that stock tranny or should I say make it last a little longer!
