Default TransGo shift kit for 2002?

Will a TransGo work with my 2002? I was thinking about getting one soon but not sure with the things I've heard about them. Somthing about the torque management caused it not to work right. I've always heard it's bad to delete torque management because it will cost you your transmission in the future? Does anyone have any help on this issue?

If you add the TransGo shift kit the tq. mgt. will be further enhanced. Even though I couldn't do tuning at the same time my shift kit went in, I still had it installed. My stock shifts were way beyond sluggish to the point that it annoyed me to drive the car. I now have tq. mgt. deleted, and the shifts are exactly like they're supposed to be. They're quick, and the car just continues to charge hard through each gear without having the hesitation on the shifts. Yes, deleting tq. mgt. from the PCM will take its toll on your trans in the long run. If you don't want to mess with a performance trans rebuild later on, then I'd recommend keeping tq. mgt. in the PCM.

I think the Torque Management removal would have minimal effect on the longevity of your trans just in itself. I would think that the more HP you run would be more detrimental. Run a cooler and keep the fluid clean and I think you can run a long time on a stock trans w/o Torque Management. <img src="images/icons/smile.gif" border="0">

Another reason for torque management is GM wanted a smoother shift so first time customers wouldn't complain the shifts were too jerky. This is geared more for the norm than us high performace guys. Most people testing new cars at the dealer wouldn't go for fast head snapping shifts.
