Default A4 better in 3rd?

just wondering if its better on the tranny for u to drive it in D (3rd) around town w/ a SY3500?

Sure, if you dont mind burning a little bit more gas turning 10 clutches instead of 5.

Depends on how slow your town is. At 40+ you can
probably stand to lock it up in 4th. Under 40 you
would probably prefer 3rd. Personally I have made
my 3rd gear no-lockup. The SY3500 should be pretty
pleasant unlocked at low pedal, you ought to have
decent "thrust" even down in the 1500-2000RPM
range.
