Lightbulb blinker problem after converter swap

ever since my converter swap, my blinker sometimes stops working. yes I am for real on this one. my car seems to idle just a tad bit lower in gear while at stoplights and if I've sat there for a second my blinker will stop. If i give the car a little bit of gas the blinker will start working again. Anyone else experienced this or have any ideas? This isnt the OEM blinker, I had to replace it a couple years ago with an autoparts store brand.

Did you switch to synthetic blinker fluid when you put the converter in?

sounds like a voltage problem.

Your idle is easily cured by a 1/2 turn of the idle set screw.

That's a hoot.

Does the car want to die at the stop light with the headlights on along with the A/C on high?

I'd say replace the blinker solonoid, if that won't work, its time for blinker fluid. hehe

Sounds like the lower idle is slowing the engine speed to where the alternator isn't doing much. When you give it gas alternator kicks in and viola. Up the idle like already mentioned or put a overdrive alternator pulley from asp.

That'll work, however a properly functioning blinker solonoid will work w/o the motor running. They are 3 bucks at a parts store. Maybe the flux capacitor makes it blink so fast you can't see it.

I would just try the idle relearn procedure first, maybe it will up the rpms at idle enough.

resetting the computer? ive already done that. Ill try the idle set screw, it's idleing at 500-550 rpm's in gear and I think that 600-700 may cure it. if i just tap the gas at a stoplight she will start blinking again. anyone got any stewed vegetables i can use for my flux? ok I gotta go poop now
