Finishing up 12bolt install, question..

Finishing up 12bolt install, question.. How did you get the sway bar to mount on the axle tubes? I have 3" u clamps, but they don't seem to be long enough. Anybody have a pic?

Re: Finishing up 12bolt install, question.. I haven't done this install, but if you need longer u-bolts a welding/machine shop should be able to make them. I made them all the time when I worked in a shop.
Measure how much longer you need, including thread length and take an old one with you for a pattern, assuming tube OD is the same.

Re: Finishing up 12bolt install, question.. J, I just found my older Moser sway bar post and sent it to the top for you. Basically, you take the 3 inch muffler clamps and install it over the axle and put the clamp shell against the axle and put the bar bushing under the clamp...it's easier if you loosen the chassis nut about an inch and tighten it last....you'll also have to angle the ubolts slightly toward the read to miss the diff cover....
Re: Finishing up 12bolt install, question.. I used regular old 3 inch exhaust clamps from Orielly auto parts and bent the sway bar bushing bracket in a vice. Bend the bracket flat and then bend the tabs straight so the bracket now has the longer space between holes to fit the u bolt.

I just bought a red torque arm. How much for the SPOHN mounts. I have been driving w/o my sway bar after the Moser 12 bolt install. I am a few hours away in Chandler.

Re: Finishing up 12bolt install, question.. I picked up some 3" muffler clamps from Pep Boys and the u-bolts were plenty long enough... and I have 1LE swaybars.
Glad you got it working Justin.
I've been driving around with my new 12 bolt for a couple days now. So far, its quieter than my 10 bolt was with 4.10's, AND the car definetly hooks harder now... probably because of the extra weight on the rear wheels. These Moser 12 bolts are HEAVY.
