Default People with TC and headers, which first.......?

I have an opportunity to buy something big in the near future. I'm torn between Pacesetter LT's with either ORY or Sweet Thunder TD's, or a 3000-3500 TC. My car is basically stock with a few minor mods. Which is the best mod to do first? I can live with the stock exhaust for now. If all else fails, I can crack open the cutout. I want it to be faster.......and I know that both these mods will improve performance. If you had it to do again, which would you do first? Also, if I choose the TC, is this a huge SOTP difference? Any help is greatly appreciated.

ALWAYS do a TC first! That is the best bang for the buck mod for an A4, hands down!

tc/cooler first- then headers and a tune (if you don't need it right after the tc).

huge sotp difference if above 3200

T/C all the way first. Do it right though. T/C, trans-go kit and trans cooler.
As for the T/C go with 3,000 to 3,500 and you will be pleased.

Cool

I agree to do the TC (with cooler) first if having to choose one over the other that is.

OK I went for the headers first, had them for a year now. Installed the ssf3500 this week-end and kick myself in the *** for not listening to everyone sooner . It does take some getting use to the new manners of your car but I have not wiped the smile off my face since the first test drive after the install . One word of caution though, TC went in Sunday, new tires were put on today...... The old BFGoodrich KDWSs just couldnt hold any more. I am trying out a pair of the Fuzion ZRIs, so far so good it has rained all day since the new tires were put on and the wet traction has been great.

The TC is a no brainer. There is not set of headers that will give the gains and performance a 3500 stall TC can give. Get the B&M 24,000 GVW Cooler and plan on getting some Nitto's

I'm gonna go to the other side on this one. YOu are gonna end up getting headers anyway. You will have to remove the stock y-pipe to get the tranny out for the converter and you know you're probably gonna break some of those bolts. An aftermarket exhaust system will make it easier to get the tranny out for the converter swap. Well it did for me with my Macs atleast.

Headers are fun in a way, it's cool having that pissed off angry sound, but it's also nice to have that AND beat people's *** with a TC.

TC. I didn't need to remove or even loosen my y-pipe/exhaust and I don't see it making it any easier.

Either way you go you will want to get something to tune with as well. The torque management in my 02 was really getting aggravating. The car felt like it was falling on it's face right before it shifted with just the headers. I couldn't imagine the headers and the tc without getting rid of that.
I think you'll be happy either way you go. Both are great mods. If you get the TC, go at least 500 RPM over what you think you will want. I have a 3k Midwest. I wish I went with at least a 3500 to 3800 stall. (just like everyone told me)
good luck!
