trans brake in a th350

anyone here ever use a trans brake in a th 350, how well does it work? what parts if any broke? i need info

I have a t-brake in mine, but I have only been to the track once with it. I have 60'd better so far with just flashing her from 1800rpm's without the brake. I have launched off the brake twice and just lit up the tires. Still looking for advice on the technique to use on it.

I am using an Art Carr trans brake. It uses no gaskets, just a seperator plate. It is a direct bolt on, and it is suppose to be much easier to install that the TCI. I have a hardened input shaft, hardened sprag race(front sprag), heavy duty low/reverse sprag, Alto Red clutches, Koleen steels, 5 clutch high gear, 5 clutch low gear. The t-brake came with high tensile high gear piston springs. I put the lower planetary with the torringten bearing on it. Only thing about shifting is t-brakes are going to be manual valvebodys, and most are reverse pattern shift (mine is). It shocks the hell out of the driveline/rearend when I drop it into 1st (max line pressure all the time from manual valvebody).

trans brakes use the direct clutches and the low rev clutches to hold the brake. what is differant with a trans brake vb is you have to use the trans brake button to back up

Yeah, I have to push the t-brake button to back up. The trans brake vb also uses a elec solenoid (this engages the direct and low/rev clutches) in place of the vacuum modulator.
