SY3500 lacking?
i thought for sure that this stall converter would definitely burn em down at that speed. is this normal with the SY3500? i mean i could tell a difference but just thought it would have broke the back end loose?? TIA

FWIW, STR is measured at zero rpm on the converter output shaft. The Only time the car sees the full STR is at launch assuming no wheel spin and an ability to brake stall close to actual stall. The torque ratio decreases quickly after launch on most high STR converters. By the time you go through the 1-2 upshift, you'll have 3300+ rpm on the output shaft. At this point, shift extension and blade angle become the biggest factor in generating a positive torque ratio (i.e. torque multiplication).

were dead even from a roll and at the track I beat his time by a bunch
I ran 12.89 and he ran 13.50 all with stock tires.
It was great fun and the sy was the difference.
