SY3500 lacking?
SY3500 lacking? ive been testing my SY3500 today. well i need some info from u guys. at around 40-45 mph i stomped it and the tires didnt break loose 
i thought for sure that this stall converter would definitely burn em down at that speed. is this normal with the SY3500? i mean i could tell a difference but just thought it would have broke the back end loose?? TIA

Did your rpms jump up to 4500 when you mashed it? If it did, it was doing its job. Actually if you held traction and performance increased, you got exactly what you needed.

FWIW, STR is measured at zero rpm on the converter output shaft. The Only time the car sees the full STR is at launch assuming no wheel spin and an ability to brake stall close to actual stall. The torque ratio decreases quickly after launch on most high STR converters. By the time you go through the 1-2 upshift, you'll have 3300+ rpm on the output shaft. At this point, shift extension and blade angle become the biggest factor in generating a positive torque ratio (i.e. torque multiplication).

the SY3500 works great for mantaining traction from a dead start and will pull strong thru the mid range to top end

were dead even from a roll and at the track I beat his time by a bunch
I ran 12.89 and he ran 13.50 all with stock tires.
It was great fun and the sy was the difference.
