Default oversized transmission pan? Filter?

I bought a 3600 multi-disc vigi a few weeks ago and im getting ready to install it..

I was wondering if most people get a bigger oil pan? 2 or 3 extra quarts? Will either of these cause clearance issues?

The larger ones I have found have been kind of expensive aroud $150. But I found a polished aluminum pan, stock size but with the drain plug and fins for extra cooling for $50, will this be sufficent? I at least want if for the ease of changing oil. Is there a cheap place to get an oversized one?

w/o a cooler looks like big pans would work good to keep it cooler but w/ a cooler wouldnt it be easier to cool smaller amounts of oil?

Also are the aftermarket filters on ebay that cost $7 good?

TCI super deep finned - nice pan, too deep after
1" drop vs speed bumps, took it off. Designed
for the car filter but if you grind down the prongs
you can make the truck filter fit nice, which is
better.

TCI chrome steel - the only good thing about it
is the drain plug. Cannot get it to seal.

I have a Silverado pan now I got off Yank's garage
sale, waiting.

Deep pans really do not do much as far as dropping temps. You might get a few degrees out of it. The better choice will be a external cooler from B&M. Get the 24,000 GVW and put it series with the stock cooler. These are ~$50 and comes with all fittings and connectors. Also, you can get a drain plug kit from NAPA for $5. Just install into the stock pan. These are cheaper than the deep pan and are more effective.

definitely get a cooler.

If you want more, the TCI pan is very nice. Dearle makes an affordable option. That's what I used.
