Reverse in a TH400 - use t-brake???

Reverse in a TH400 - use t-brake??? i read in another post that some valve body manufactures don't recommend putting the TH400 into reverse to backup, rather put it in neutral and hit the -tbrake to reverse - ANY TRUTH TO THIS 
when you have a t brake the reverse doesn't work with the shifer anyways. it's just gonna be neutral. mines that way. You have to hook it up the transbrake to a switch on your shifter to move the shifter into reverse to even mover the car. I just put it in neutral and hit the trans brake.
