another lock up problem
another lock up problem Got a few hundred miles on this converter.
last night...cruising on the expressway...with the converter locked up. for no reason the converter just unlocks. no big deal...its happened on occation. So i go to hit the manual lock up switch and that doesnt work either. Stopped, checked the fluid...looks ok...smells ok. checked the wires on the manual switch...all good.
so basically the lock up was working perfect, then it just stopped..and the manual switch doesnt work either.
any idea's? thanks

There have been reports on this board of lock-up issues on low-mileage TCI's ... but like you, after only a few hundred miles, I would be doubtful of that. Especially on a tranny with higher miles, the TCC valve can have impaired functioning because of wear ... if you have tuning capability you may want to play with your force motor table ... do a search on that - jimmyblue has posted a lot on it. If you get into your valve body, you might want to consider a Transgo kit with the upgraded TCC valve.
