anyone know what's needed for this one? i like the idea of still having the lockup as well as the overdrive considering how much i drive it. got a great deal on one if i want it. was supposed to go behind my buddies 9 sec. GN so any thoughts on this are greatly appreciated. thanks.

From what I have been told, the stock torque arm needs to be moved as does the stock drive shaft. It will take sme custom work and wont be cheap. Those are great trannies and i want to do the same swap w/ my 93.

i'd be getting the BMR x-brace thing as well as their torque arm, so that takes care of that. what needs to be done computer wise?
Chris
edit- oh well, everything has a price anyways, it will end up being cheaper then rebuilding the 4l60E, and will be more reliable, with the same driveability. got to love that.

You won't need computer work unless your previous tranny was an A4. If so, then I believe you will need a PCM tricker box, the 200-4r is cable shifted.
You might want to look into the adapter plate Yank sells. It mounts between bell housing and block. I believe the purpose is for strength and flexing issues?
It sounds a little more technical when Mike explains it.
I bought the whole 4L70 kit with PYE 4000.
Also watch your pan clearance. Buicks tend to ride a little higher than our cars so it might have a much deeper pan.
Let me know what happens with your swap, mine should arrive this week and installation will begin this Sat.
Good Luck.

yeah i had an a4 before. that adaptor plate i've been told you don't need. the very top bolt won't line up and the bottom two bolts goign into the oil pan won't line up, but this doesn't cause any premature wear nor does it cause an oil leak lr result in less strength. now actually this was for a th350, but i'm not sure if it still applies here. wish it did though.

Call Mike @ Yank as well. I am using their 4l70 trans (Extremely built 200R) and it is working REALLY REALLY well. I have a manual valvebody, all billet internal, reverse pattern etc. Really nice trans, I love it
