Roll racing in a SS4000.....
What kind of roll racing will I see? I wont hook from a stop from the street so I was curious if there would be a loss or gain there......I think loss.....
From what i understand a torque converter will help your car alot from a roll compared to a stock converter. However i'm not sure if going too high would hurt the performance compared to say a 3500 stall. But with the SS4000 being a tight converter anyway, i would say it would help tremendously.
you will be faster from a roll compared to your stock convertor. you will not see that dreaded 2nd gear dull zones at 2800 rpms like stock from a 45 roll. believe me bro, you will enjoy it.
Racing from a roll will be greatly improved versus a stock converter. The car will pull harder and the shift extension is better. My car shifts at 6,600 rpm and only falls to 5,500 rpm when going to the next gear. The stock TC will fall at least 2,000 rpm. The SS4000 should be in the 5,100-5,200 between shifts with stock shift points.
My pt4400 is a monster from a roll... but if you’re at a low “25 -30mph” speed and a low rpm and you flash the converter you might also spin the tires and lose control of the car... my car scared the hell out of me from a roll until i got use to it… if it spins let off… there will be another race.
from a 50ish roll you should be fine... as long as it dry out
My car likes to go side ways when it loses traction maybe a rear-end problem? But from a stop I leave almost the same black marks so I think it's just something about the f-body. "Stock suspension"
My yank also holds its rpms very well.
