Will I be able to use the gear venders kit with the Cheetah Shifter? Doesn't that make it 6 speeds so how would you shift? Thanks.

the switch for the GV unit is independent of the trans/shifter.
[quote]With the GEAR VENDORS dashswitch in "auto" you will have automatic overdrive just like the vehicle came with a factory system. The dashswitch can either be mounted in our underdash bezel or the custom indash bezel like the Fleetwood Limiteds that came factory with the GEAR VENDORS. The GEAR VENDORS will shift on and off without attention of the driver and can be used while towing up to combined weights of 30,000 lbs. An interactive floorswitch is positioned for the left foot (just like a headlight dimmer) to give manual control at any moment so that you can turn the overdrive on/off for performance and gear splitting.

Does the GV unit shift fast enough to be used for racing? I don't really see how it could...

i believe George Baxter uses his on the way to 9.1x 1/4 miles. its good for racing becase it can be used as a gear-splitter. by dropping off less between the shifts (rpms) you gain speed.

Yeah it'd be great for getting closer ratio shifts. I just always questioned how fast it could shift. If George uses it then my question is answered <img src="gr_grin.gif" border="0">
