Converter and Gears???

Ok I have a Yank 3200 stall with a 1.86STR. I'm looking at putting in 3.73 gears. I presently have 3.23 gears. My mod set up is in my sig.

So here's my questions ... How will this impact milage? ... I know at some point I should reprogram with an HPP3, if I don't right away, how much will my speedo be off? Which way? ... Is there something other than or cheaper than an HPP3 to accomplish the programing with? ... Last any thought or inputs on this set up??

your speedo will read 15% high, which adds miles to your odometer.

you can correct w/o an HPP3. SLP sells a plug in gizmo to correct for gear swaps.

Thanks ... checked on the SLP "gizmo", $160 ... ouch! Halfway to the cost of an HPP3. Oh well, I'm getting the gears for next to nothing.

I'd check around in the various classifieds for a used HPP3. You can usually pick one up for $200-$225.
