Default Just installed SS4000 from Yank!

Thanks to Rev Xtreme, you all are the best in the biz!

OK, well after the break in, well not realy a break in, just a cruise to monitor temps and fluid, I was ready for teh first WOT hit. I had Jeremy Formato, the best LS1 tunner ever!! next to me. He adjusted some fuel and tranny things, and said go from 45, so I did. I was amazed! We were trying to get the shift of 2-3 perfect, well sure enough it was. Then we went from a 25 roll to see the 1-2 shift......perfect again! Car felt so nice it was hard to believe it was mine! Never drops bellow 5k under WOT shifts, and gets up and goes!

The best part is, it is real soft on the tires daily driven....maybe not the rpm, but I drove all the way home, about 10 miles or so, and never heard a hint of tire spin. Well I spun the tires from a stop all the way to 85mph....but when it came time to drive normal, the converter was game for it.

I will be taking it to the track this Saturday, and tell you all the results...12.777 to maybe a 12.2 or better....I'm shooting for a 12.3 at least!

Not a Yank SS series, but I'm going to a TCI 4000/2.8 from my TCS 3200/2.5 and I can't wait. TCI said my shift extension would be slightly above 5k also. Seems like you're very happy with the results. Congrats.

And for what its worth, I've found that its much easier to drive a high stalled car than a stock stalled car. You've got alot more room to control exactly how much you want the car to accelerate, whereas with the stock converter you barely touch the gas and the car is wanting to break the tires loose on wet pavement. Stalled > stock any day of the week.

I am going with a th350 in my '00 TA and i am not sure what converter to go with. I have been told to get a 4400, now i am not going to run nitrous right away so is that a good stall? I am going to put an ms3 cam so i would like to get a converter that will run good with that cam. So if anyone has any suggestions i would appreciate it.

badcompany start your own post and you will get much more responses.

also a 4400 convertor is not a good idea if you are running a hydraulic street cam on nitrous. way too high for the torque curve

I would say after compensating for the lag of the stock Tach.....5100rpm

I thought that I wouldn't have any gear up that high, boy was I wrong! I was thinking I would only have 1000rpm to play with, which is true, but in that 1000rpm I shift at the same speeds as before, just now the car pulls with all it's might!

So you're shifting at 6100? And stock internals correct?

A baby cam is going in when my TCI goes in, so I'll probably be revving a little higher than that, but I wondered how it felt to have that much shift extension. Seems like you're RPMs would climb much slower and the converter would slip more.

Sounds good...post your track times when you get back from the track.

I can't wait when my PT4000 goes in.

kevin, with a tire and skinnys (borrowed i guess) i dont see a reason why with some track seat time, we get you into the 11s with the stock cam. let me know when you want to get serious. i will help you out at the track.

Yeah, stock internals, 6000 shift. You go through the gears a bit guicker, and are in teh powerband all through the gear! LS1s powebands eat up the converters, they love them.......

Track closed an hour early, and I was so pissed! I left at 4:35 get there at 5:00 and just the officials were there.....going this Thurday, John, it is time to get serious! :yup:

I am very interested in seeing your new track times.. I've got a SSF3500 that I'm sending to TCI to get it restalled to a 3800. But, I've also got a set of PRC 2.5 5.3's on order with a MS3, LS6 intake, and a 125 shot so I don't wanna go much bigger than a 3800 cause of the nitrous.. Should be in the 10's with ease by the end of the summer.

well i will say that the ET wont be comparable from your all time best. its now hot and humid in florida since its summer again. looking at 2500-3000 DA this week compared to about 0-200 when you ran your 12.77 but we should still be able to knock out a low 12 without a problem! go and see if you can borrow dan laslie's (juicedss) stock wheels with et streets.

well how about this, if you can get the et streets. we will just bring them with us (they fit easily in the back of a hatch. believe me. if you cant get them, the bfg could probably work and get us into the low 1.6s

its all about seat time.
