Default cam and stock stall help

Im planning on getting some bolt ons and cam put on my new car friday from speed inc and have to stick with stock stall for another month or so. I am planning on a 3800 stall, but I havent picked my cam specs yet, but Im hoping to put something in the lines of 235-240 cam with either a 114 LSA or 112LSA, i would also consider going smaller cam, something with split deration cause Ill be spraying 100 and then once i upgrade stuff (fuel system) 150 dry shot. But I read somewhere a guy had a 230ish split cam with 112LSA and said it ran like **** on stock stall. But I just want it to work and then later on like in a month or so add a stall, and maybe a larger cam depending on how much money ill have in the future. will this cam work ok with stock stall 233/239 114LSA??

my car ran ok with the stock convertor, but i never raced it and it was tuned for gears i didn't have in it but is very driveable. now like i said i never raced it and never really even got fully in the throttle for fear of blowing the trans that was already weak. well it blew anyway then i put in the stall.

I have the stock stall right now with a 226/234 112 cam and it is very annoying IMHO.. The car idles right at the break stall ( about 950rpm) of the stock vert so I gotta stand on the breaks hard to get it to stop and keep it threre... Also with the car idling that high the car slam into drive from P or R.. Good thing I ordered my stall today because it is REALLY annoying IMHO...

IMO.. the 3800 verter would give you better gains then just a cam. We just did a cam in a buddy's GTO 2 weeks ago.. Took it for a spin, not bad. Then, the next week, we added a 3600 Fuddle TC.. And man did that thing tear up the pavement.
Youll be surprised hom much of a difference a TC makes. I got my 4K stall sitting in the floor and H/C package on the way soon.
So, you might want to get the verter/cooler first..

if your going for a cam that big you better get a bigger stall! them size cams need at least a 4000+ stall..
