Default Those with ss3600, info please.

I just ordered my yank ss3600, and was wondering what can i expect from this converter, does it drive pretty much like stock? Will i need a tune after installation? I already have a cooler and a new flex plate. How is the drivabilty with this stall? Any info would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

yanks are very efficient converters, so congrats. depends if this is ur first converter or not, as in whut u can expect to feel. if its ur first, NO WAY in hell does it drive like stock. haha. a tune is always a good idea, but is not a necessity at this time if thats all ur doin. make sure u have the biggest dam cooler there is. I runa 28K for my Vig3200. driveability will change, but for the better. it takes a lil gettin used to, but after that its like its not even there. u definitely will be driving it more and wishing u got one the first day u bought the car. MPG might hurt a lil bit but depends wher u cruz. residential will eat gas, but if ur drivin in 40mph everywher u go it should be fine.

u live in MI by any chance?

Thanks for some input guys, yes, this my first converter. My car is just a
weekender, sometime doesn't get drivin for two weeks at a time. I have all the bolt-ons, how do you guys think this converter would work with a
fms 224/224 588/588 144 cam? I can't wait to get that converter in. I live in
south carolina.

If you have the stock GU2 2.73's and even the GU5 3.23's it will be loose under normal driving conditions.

I have a Yank 3000 coupled to 3.73's, and in certain situations you can still feel the RPM's slip.

I have this converter with 3.23's and I dont even know its there anymore. My dad has a 98Z and says that mine is to loose for him but his is a daily driver. It will take you about 30 min to get used to it and you WONT ever look back. I can still go stoplight to stoplight without going over 2000 rpm's. Now that I have heads and cam it still drives like it did before....good choice if you ask me

EDIT* I forgot to add that i dropped .6 in the 1/4 and that was with no tuning at all and the converter being the ONLY mod that was different. It was at the same track and the temps were withing 2 degrees of being the same for both nights. (a week difference)

I have a SS3800 and love it. Get some sticky tires!!! I haven' t been out to the track, and I run on street tires, so I know this will not be optimal, but, everyone says always go bigger, with the stall so you don' t regret it. This is my first stall and it didn't take long to get used to it. Just watch out with you exhaust. The car, when the 'verter is unlocked, will run louder, and could attract the fuzz. My car did, I got got a $300.00 ticket for modified exhaust and no cats'. Boo!!! You' ll like it

Yeah that exhaust will run louder and I have the loudmouth on top of that. Getting my FL plate soon so I won't have to worry bout the fuzz.

I run the loudmouth now, I was running without the cats, but lately i put the cats back in, now my loudmouth has a real deep tone, I've had the loudmouth for a while, probably going to be switching to a borla. Thanks for
the replies, I'm looking forward to getting the stall in, I'll let you guys know how it goes.
