Default What is required to convert from M6 to A4?

I have a buddy who also has an M6 and wants to convert to either an A4 or th350. What all is required to do this swap? PCM, pedals, trani crossmember, different torque arm? What would the swap entail? All info is greatly appreciated.

If you go to a TH400 or TH350 not a lot is needed..

New torque arm
New driveshaft
No CPU reprogramming w/th400 th350
shifter
few other fabricated parts

to go from a m6 to a regular A4 trans can be very expensive...thats why I'm leaning towards the TH400

It cost me $450. But I found someone with an A4 that wanted an M6. That is the best way to go about it.

I might consider going back to an M6 if the price is right. I have a built 4L70 tranny from yank with a manual valve body and thruster pro converter. So I cannot really give that tranny away since its almost a $6000 package.

The used 4L60E tranny that I swapped with just did not last.

I recently completed the swap so maybe I can help. You need 1) 4L60E 2) A4 Engine Wiring Harness 3) A4 Pedal Assembly 4) Reprogram M6 ECM for A4 5) Trans Cooler 6) A4 Crossmember 7) A4 Tranny Mount 8) A4 Torque Arm Mount 9) A4 Shifter 10) A4 Upper Center Console 11) Shifter Cable 12) Yank TP4400!!!

That's most of it. A couple things to remember: The clutch switch needs to be cut and either wired straight together or swapped with a manual switch. Without that switch on or in open loop, the car won't start. Just like the car won't start without the clutch engaged. If you put in a manual switch and hide it, it works pretty good for a theft deterrent as long as the little **** isn't too smart. Another thing, I didn't mess with any neutral switches, so keep in mind the car will start in any gear. The M6/A4 driveshafts and torque arms are the same.

....And I sure as hell wasn't going to all this trouble and leaving in the little POS stock converter! TP4400 all the way!
