Default Life expectancy?

I'm planning on putting out around 400 rwhp and running a 3200 stall in my daily driver. My car currently is at 55,000 miles. How long I could expect the stock transmission to hold up? I've heard that some people never have problems with this combo and some people do, im just looking for the general consensus.

I started using a 3200 stall with about 58K on my stock trans, now it has 71K & still working. Just keep the fluid clean & cool, WOT down shift wont help.

So far so good for me, but get a good tranny cooler, and don't romp on it all the time and it should hold up okay.. My car makes 386RWHP

A tranny cooler is a good idea, along with a good shift kit. The shift kit will increase lubrication flow for better cooling, converter feed, and of course lubrication to the gears, bearings, shafts, and bushings. I've got a shift kit, and I have over 120,000 miles on my car. Never had a single problem.

As of now im planning on spending my next check to get a cooler, transgo shift kit, and a 3200 stall. About a month later im looking into a tr 224 cam with possibility of adding heads later down the road. Anything else you guys can think of that might help it last? I'm hoping for it to last two years until the car is paid off and I decide to go track only with it.

My tranny went out at 57k miles, less than 10k after converter. I didn't ever realize that WOT downshifts were that hard on it either.

My stock tranny went out not too long after my H/C install...got it rebuilt with a level 4 tranny from PATC...went out again, 5 months later...had them rebuild it again under the 6 mo. warranty...went out again, 3 mo's later...took it to a local shop here that gives a 1 year warranty, and it'll be a year in mid-July, and still no problems, and that's with several grueling passes with DR's, and hot lapping! With my mods, I consider that great workmanship!!! Get's very expensive @ $2500 or more a pop with built 4L60/5e's!

Let's put it this way...craftsmanship, has everything in the world to do with it!
Never do business with PATC, is one very expensive lesson I learned!
