Default Throwing a P0751 for the trans...why?

The code is for (Solenoid "A" Performance or Stuck Off). I threw the code before, and when it was under warranty, I had it fixed about a year and a half ago. Now it is throwing the code, and when i am on the highway with the cruise set at 80, the RPMs are jumping up and down from 3000 to 3400 and back. I figure that is the converter unlocking and locking. Any clue of what it could be? I have a TCI ssf 4000 converter, Trans Go shift kit, and a 4.10 gear. Thanks.

I get the same code. I've been looking for an answer for a while but haven't found a real fix. I'm going to try changing the solenoid but I don't think its the problem. Its worth a shot though.

My Vig 3200 has just recently started drifting in and out of lock-up mode, like yours. I'm wondering if it could be the lock-up solenoid?

Gonna take it in to RPM Mtrsprts soon and see if they can resolve the issue.
Good luck, and post your eventual fix.

Same here but the code cleared itself and this was a week after the rebuild.

Why, can't you just replace the solenoid? Or do you just want to up-grade to a stronger tranny?

i don't think it is the actual solenoid causing the problem. i just had it replaced around a year ago, and i don't see them blowing every year. i think the problem is electrical, but who knows. if it is gonna cost a lot to have it replaced, and still have the same problem, then it will just be better to go to a 400 and not have any problems.

Someone recomended to drive in 3, on the camaro its D, instead of over drive. I tried it and the light went out after a day of driving. It hasn't come back on yet so it seems to be a good temp fix. I think it helps because the converter locks up at 30 instead of 40. I'm going to put a shift kit on and change the solenoid while I'm in there so hopefully I won't get the light again.
