A4 issues @ WOT during track runs
got a 3800 stall in my 2.73 geared Z28 (rest of mods in sig). I previously had a best run of 12.36@108.83 1.70 60'(nittos). I then added a set of stage 2 heads along with a cutout and ran 12.32@109.33 1.68 60' (BFG's). I got 12.32 on my first run with the new setup. On every run since, my transmission has been acting up shifting into 3rd. On interstate the car will shift into 3rd at WOT every time. At the track it acts like it's going into neutral and I can do all i want to hit the gas and it wont go into any gear again until I let it slow down a little bit. My transmission temps during the runs are 125-150 degrees by my gauge. I decided to give the car another run to see what was up and this is what I did: Instead of heating up the tires in first/second gear and nearing the rev limiter, I did 100% of my run in overdrive and didnt let the rpm's go as high when in the burnout box. I still left the line stalling to about 3000 rpm's but spun for the whole 60ft and even got loose after I got out of first gear. This time it shifted into 2nd and 3rd just fine. So all-in-all my best run of the night was 12.5X@96mph. If you've read this far, thanks alot. Anyways, my question here is, could my problems simply be that I need to tune up my shift points and rev limiter, as well as get rid of my torque management? A dyno is necessary anyway since I havent gotten one since the exhaust and heads. Could it be something less simple and be a TCC or solenoid? My car isnt hesitating in downshifting any. hope all you tell me is that I need to get HP tuners, this is my second tranny (clutch packs went in first one). Thanks for all and any help guys, i really appreciate it.

any more ideas. It runs fine on the street. I just may have to call an end to racing this season. I can save a little now and get a built tranny. I'm looking at the Pure Evil Stage 2 600HP/550TQ

I always run in OD, And if I spin bad of the line the trans shifts AFU. If you just added the bigger converter, & engine modes your shift points are going to be off. I would auto tap a few runs on the street to see were it's shifting. Every time I do a big mod the shift points change.

Unfortunately I'd say there is a good chance your tranny is dying. That was the first 'unignorable' sign I got from mine.
Did you have the heads/cam tuned? It could be shift point settings, but since it shifts some of the time it's hard to say....that is also how mine was at first. I left the track after flaring the shift and occasionally not making it at all, tested on the interstate and it shifted 2-3. After a few more times it wouldn't do the shift at all.
