Again, my perspective is different from most of the guys but I think I know what you're looking for so let me illustrate from my own experience. I had 2.73's and hated them because the car felt unresponsive in town. I did gears first and it was an awesome improvement. The car felt so much better in all driving situations except I had more revs on the freeway - but it was well worth it. Later I had some tuning done, added the 3000 stall, and it has had several benefits. But I am quite sure that if I had kept the 2.73's and added the stall I probably would have hated it even more. Why? The dreaded "looseness" phenomenon. With the 2.73's, the stall has to slip way up the rpm band to get the car moving; sure, it feels great if you nail it, but in ordinary driving, it will feel sluggish. For you, if you want low rpm SOTP grunt, I would recommend gears first. The best thing I've done for my car's driveability was get rid of the 2.73's.

I dropped in my 3200 Level 1 TC (Vigilante) a few months ago, and today get it back with my 3.42's in it.

(Learn from my mistake, if you are doing a gear swap, your 2.73 rear end is a series 2 carrier so you will need an X gear set or swap complete rear ends.)
Can you be more specific please...i've seen references to Series 1 and 2...I have a 2000 Z/28 with SLP 3.73 gears and am preparing for a TC...posts etc are leading me towards Vigilante 2800 or 3200...good choice? Problems?

Default stall installed

I got a 3200 vig installed with 2.5str and did the gears at the same time, I went with 3.42s. I need a tune bad, going on saturday, but I am overall happy, haven't really got to test it out though. Will post pics soon

You have to get a series 3 carrier, cost about 100 new
