Where does your stock A4 shift at WOT from 1st to 2nd? my old '98 T/A with 2:73's shifted between 5800-6000 but for some reason my '99 SS with 3:23's(of course)shifts at 5500-5700 is it just the tach lagging behind??? I hope this will not hurt my ET's????? <https://ls1tech.com/ubb/cgi-bin/gr_images/icons/mad.gif>

It might be short shifting if you’re having traction issues. Mine does that too when I get tire spin. With full traction and 3.23s my ’00 WS6 shifted at 58/5900 stock. With the current MTI PCM that’s in the car, it shifts at about 6200.
Don’t trust the stock tach though. Use a-tap to get readings. And even a-tap isn’t always fast enough to be dead on.

I agree. Remember that it shifts on MPH and if you lose traction you can reach your shift point very quickly, faster than the tach keeps up. That's one of the reasons that raising the shift point can actually slow you down... The PCM will let you sit and spin a teeny bit longer. <img src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" border="0">

So what should it be shifting at stock? is 5600-5700
too low? what could cause this? wheelspin??? I have poor traction with the F1's!

From playing with HPP3 since the converter install, I would say mine shifts on MPH. Spinning in 1st on street radials the rpm shift points could/would be different almost every time, and well below the "normal" 5850 average it would shift at pre-converter. (1-2 shift)
