Default Truck 4L60E onto '98 LS1 interchangeability?

Perhaps this should have gone into the automatic transmission forum but I'm a n00b. I may be replacing the tranny in my '98 Z28 and I have found a few LS1 F-body 4L60E's searching junkyard inventory on http://www.car-part.com They run about $750+. However, late model truck 4L60E's are a dime a dozen and much cheaper. I couldn't find a definitive answer in searching here and was wondering if anyone has a solid answer on how to make a late model truck 4L60E work in my '98 Z28. What truck 4L60E's are a compatible replacement for my car?

From what I've gathered, I would have to use the tailshaft from my tranny on the truck tranny. According to this thread '99+ truck 4L60E's are the same as '98 LS1 4L60E's. That sounds a little TOO simple to me. Does ANYONE have a definitive answer on what truck 4L60E's work on '98+ LS1's?
