Default ? for all you big stalled guys

I have a pt 4000 tc and a 24g supercooler it works great when I am moving fast and air gets through it, but when i am at the track in the staging lanes then I do my burnout and stall up the tranny gets to hot around 210. I am looking at a cooler with a fan on it but I just want to know what set up you guy are running

we had the same issues with our 4000+stalls and coolers, we added a B&M 3qt ext pan and never had the problem again. Just be careful if the car is lowered because the bigger pan sits low.

I have a SSF4000, B&M 24k cooler and TCI's aluminum/finned +2 quart trans pan. Right now it's 85-95* on a daily basis and the tranny reaches 190-210* while just driving around town. How hot is the tranny when you enter the staging lanes, how much heat do you gain while in the lanes? If the lanes are long I push the car to keep the trans from getting too much extra heat.

Have you thought about a manuel fan switch to turn the fans on when you are in the waiting in line?

Doesn't do much for the tranny. I run my fan on high in traffic/staging lane situations and it doesn't do much at all to pull air over the tranny cooler itself. Unless you are moving along the tranny doesn't cool very well.

i have a 5300 stall, a 29,200 cooler and a B&M 3+ quart. it runs as hot at 210 while driving around in 100 degree heat (it hovers at 180-195 normally). i have a very efficient cooler set up but big stalls heat up. on the brake after a run it goes to 220 but it cools VERY quickly in the staging lanes back down to 180..
