clunking sound when shifting (12 bolt just installed)
Last weekend I installed a Moser 12 bolt. the rear sounds great and everything, But sometimes when I shift I get a clunking sound that I can feel. it won't do this all the time. mostly when I am driving normal and shift quick or let the clutch up quick. I can almost feel like something is moving under there..
So the first thing I did was check all the bolts for the rear. the LCA's , Panrod bar TQ arm, shocks and they are all tight. I even put in a new 3 1/2 driveshaft and it still makes the same sound. I ran out of Idea's does anyone else have this problem and how did you cure it ??

I got a clunking noise when I go over a large bump fairly fast with my moser. All of my bolts are tight also. Without your car jacked up, look at the swaybar and see if its close to the pumpkin. If its close, then it's probably hitting the pumpkin when the suspension goes down. Just put about 1/2" spacer on the swaybar mount to lower it and that should take care of it. This is what I need to do also.
The awaybar is close to the cover but for some reason it don't sound like it's the awaybar .. anyone else have any idea's ??
Well I dont know how your 12-bolt is setup but if you got a locker it will do that. The locker in my 9" makes a clunking sound when letting off and getting back on the gas....If you dont have a locker I have no clue sorry
