Question Highest stall the computer will tolerate?

How high of a stall can you go before the stock computer starts saying hey whats going on here? and the tranny doesnt work right? I'm thinking of going with a vig 3200 mods are in sig with a tranny cooler going in this week or next. I'd love a yank but not in the budget now. Thanks in advance for any help.

You can go pretty damn high if you want to, but with mostly anything other than stock, your shift points will be messed up and you'll need to have Torque Management tuned out.

3,000-3,200 is the limit on stock tune(look at my sign thats why i have it). Well with that being said i say wait till you can get ls1 edit/hp tuners so you can tune it for a higher stall. My opinion as well as many others is that anything under 3,500 stall is pointless and if you do pick something smaller you will want more in the future... I will be selling mine soon and it works just fine with the stock tune, now i want more stall since i have ls1 edit to reprogram.....

If you decide on the Vig3200 you'll like it. Best 60' to date is 1.63 & I know when it cools down I should be able to beat that. That's with 3:42 10bolt, MT dr's on 16" rim's, & No shinneys.

I have a Y3000 coupled to 3.73 gears, and had all sorts of problems with the PCM in my 01 Z28 and had to get the vehicle dyno tuned.

The Y3000 is a 10 1/2 inch O.D. TC, vice the 12" stock. Your Vig is a 9 1/2 inch converter, which meens you will have to raise your idle also to compensate for the rotational mass of the smaller convertere.

i was just talking about the stock tune and not running into problems or throwing codes which is what he asked and 3,200 is about the limit anything more and you throw the "slipping converter" code forgot the number for it..

My friend is running a Yank 2600 stall (he purchased it through SLP) 12" converter with the stock tune with no problems whatsoever, HOWEVER, I would not waste my time or money on this low of a stall.
