Shrug. Well I know that 1st and second in mine have no engine braking. When I'm at the track after I go through the traps I just throw the car into second and it goes right back down to idle even when I'm at 80 or 90mph...first is the same way. weird. I guess it's possible that the trannies could be built differently. Did you ever drive the car before you put the GV unit in...maybe that's got something to do with it. Weird. I thought they were all built the same.

Maybe it is my GV unit that is doing the engine braking... I don't know. This is something I have never thought about.

Here is my setup.

TH400, 3.06 first gear 1.60 second gear, stock shifter, Yank UT 4400, GV unit, stock 10 bolt rear, 3.73 gears.

Ah I see the weight now too. 36#s isn't that much at all. So a TH350 with a GV unit is going to cost me around $5000 total? I wonder if the GV unit can be hooked up to turn on itself at a specific speed or something.

Sounds very cool... What was your final price installed (just GV + install, not custom crossmember or DS)? That foot button sounds too much like dancing to me... being white with no rhythm, I'd be likely to screw that up

Now, say you are in 1st gear. To split first, you leave the shifter alone, and press the button, right? Now, to go to normal 2nd, you have to move the shifter to second and press the button again, or does moving the shifter automatically put you into second normal?

Sorry to keep pounding you with questions, but you are theonly source for GV info I have found so far.

The gearvendors unit can be completely automatic if you want it to or you can run it off of a switch. There webpage is pretty informative and has dimensions etc.
